The National Autonomous University of Mexico law School Postgraduate Studies unit was designed in 2006, in a former 50´s ice cream factory concrete structure outside University City. The site faces a heavy traffic road that establishes a border and a deep slope between University City and a cliff volcanic rock land. Two projecting steel structure horizontal prism bodies depart from the original construction slightly touching the rock peak give the sensation to be flying. The entire metal framework was originally painted in black establishing contrast with the aluminum clad neighbor building. The tectonic and geological qualities of the rock were left untouched accentuating the cantilevers.
